Answer

Why do I seem to be getting more Anthracnose disease on my greens this year?

Anthracnose attacks grass plants (normally only Annual meadow grass) when they are under environmental stress and normally due to low nutrition. Over the last year most of the country has experienced more rainfall than than usual, this may be influencing nutrient levels in rootzones leaving them lower than desirable for healthy turf growth. We are also seeing extended growing periods from September to December and beyond. Where nutrition input is ceased in August or September nutrient may run out leaving the grass plant susceptible to attack. It is worth getting your soil analysed in order to ascertain any deficiences and the exact requirements for healthy turf growth.
