Scotts ProCrystal is Clear Solution

Scotts has launched ProCrystal, an innovative new biological control which quickly and effectively gets rid of algae in ponds and lakes, returning the water to a clear and odourless state, without disturbing the natural balance of the eco-system.

Composed of friendly bacteria, ProCrystal is very well tolerated by fish and all aquatic fauna and flora (grasses and dicotyledons.) It is designed to control swimming or floating unicellular and filamentous algae which can be found in stagnant water. These algae develop and grow in nutrient-rich waters and are the main cause of oxygen depletion following their decay. Apart from looking unsightly, this creates a physical obstacle to activities such as irrigation, water sports, fishing and farming.

ProCrystal very quickly consumes and degrades the excess nitrites and phosphates that algae need for their development, causing them to die swiftly. The new product improves the clarity of the water and reduces unpleasant odours just days after application. ProCrystal is more efficient when water temperature rises above 10°C, and pH ranges from 5.5 to 8.5.

Available in water-soluble, single-dose sachets, the product can be applied easily from the waterside or boat. Optimum time for application is from spring to early autumn.
