Scotts Runs Seminars For New Distributors
22 May 07 10:00Scotts has been running a programme of training seminars to introduce its Agroblen and Agrolution range of specialist agricultural fertilizers to a network of new distributors. Following the successful launch of the products two years ago, the company has decided to broaden distribution throughout the UK and Ireland by appointing specialist field crop distributors.
Agroblen is a controlled release granular fertilizer for field-grown crops, including field-grown trees, hedging and stock plants, while Agrolution is a water-soluble range for soft fruit and field-grown crops.
Scotts business development manager Shaun Cavanagh said: “The training seminars were designed to ensure that our new specialist distributors and own area sales mangers have a full understanding of the products and their benefits. With Agroblen, growers can minimise the leaching of nutrients into the watercourses; make a single fertilizer application rather than multiple applications; minimise soil compaction when applying the fertilizer; and optimise yield by providing nutrients exactly when crops demand.”
Agroblen achieves these goals by having a blend of various rates of two different coating technologies of granular fertilizer with some uncoated fertilizer. This allows release times to go from 2-3 months to 12-14 months. The most popular products in the Agroblen range are those that provide 5-6-month release times, as these deliver nutrition during the UK growing season from April to September.
Shaun added: “Agrolution is a range of specialist water-soluble fertilizers with very significant levels of calcium to improve cell wall strength. It also contains useful magnesium levels to enhance soft fruit skin quality and shelf life.”
