Scotts Help Congleton Bloom In Style

Children like nothing better than getting their hands dirty, and these kids from local primary schools around Congleton, in Cheshire, are certainly having a whale of a time. They are potting plants for Congleton in Bloom, a voluntary organisation which provides floral displays each year for the town.

This year, Scotts has sponsored the group by providing 70 bags of its Levington M2 compost and one 25kg bag of Osmocote Exact Standard slow release fertilizer, to ensure the displays get the best growing conditions all season long. The products were supplied through local Scotts stockist Henry Alty Ltd.

Derek Hampson, of Scotts, said: “The company believes in supporting local groups who are working hard to make towns look their best with floral displays. We are delighted to be part of this and confident Congleton will look beautiful all summer.”

Margaret Williamson, of Congleton in Bloom, commented: “We are so pleased Scotts is able to sponsor this year’s activities and I’d like to thank them very much for their kind support. We believe it’s so important to continue with the displays because we involve our local youth organisations and schools in planting these up so that they become stakeholders in the initiative. This really helps them to be more aware of their environment and they love getting involved too.

“With all this great help from the young people of the town we are looking forward to success in the Large Town category of the North West in Bloom competition this summer.”
