Insecticides:

Intercept 5GR

Imidacloprid, the active ingredient of Intercept 5GR, is a chloronicotinyl insecticide which disrupts the nervous system of insects but not mammals.  It acts by both contact and systemic action when incorporated into a growing medium.

Soil pests are controlled by contact with the pesticide in the compost.  Systemic action via root uptake protects the aerial parts of the plan from foliar attack.  Sucking pests take up the pesticide through feeding on plant tissue.  After ingestion, feeding and breeding activity of susceptible species is reduced and death follows.  Although initial knockdown of adults is not always rapid, plant damage is minimised very quickly.
  • Provides long-term protection from Vine Weevil and Scarid Fly larvae, Aphids (including A. Gossypii) and Whitefly (including Bemisia) on protected containerised crops.
  • Controls insects resistant to organophosphorus, carbamate, pyrethrum and pyrethroid insecticides.
  • Pre-potting compost incorporation provides protection throughout the production cycle and beyond.
  • Crop- and user-friendly, cost efficient and labour saving.
  • Firmly held in compost and does not leach out.
  • No environmental restrictions or precautions for treated compost.
  • Available pre-mixed in Levington and Shamrock.

Pack size: Available in 5kg and 25kg tubs
