Colonial Bentgrass

Alister
Alister was developed and tested by Pure Seed Testing as PST-9F7.  A very uniform, aggressive, bunch-type bentgrass with compact, upright growth and short rhizomes.  Alister forms a dark green, dense turf with very fine blade width.  Best for full sun applications, but does have somewhat better shade tolerance than creeping bentgrass.

With excellent cold tolerance, Alister is well adapted to the cool, temperature climates of Europe.  It mixes well with fine fescues for improved turf quality and quick Spring green-up.  Very well suited for low maintenance situations with a low Nitrogen requirement.  This characteristic allows for good persistence on poor, infertile soils with a soil pH from 5.0-7.0.  Though preferring well-drained soils, Alister will persist in wet locations.

With poor heat tolerance, Alister is also well suited for Autumn over-seeding of turf.  It's rapid Spring transition allows for quick recovery and a smoother, more even turf surface during late Spring.

  • Dark, blue-green, dense turf with a very fine blade width.
  • Uniform, aggressive, bunch-type with compact upright growth and short rhizomes.
  • Good Spring performance and excellent cold tolerance gives superb turf quality.
  • Good Dollar Spot resistance.

Recommended Seeding Rate: General Turf 3-5g per square metre

Autumn Overseeding 5g per square metre
