Velvet Bentgrass

Greenwich

Provides an excellent putting surface with exceptional turf performance and wear tolerance under low fertility, Greenwich features strong resistance to Dollar Spot and Brown Patch.

An ideal alternative to creeping bentgrasses, especially in environmentally sensitive areas where water and fertilizer use may be limited.

Greenwich tolerates a wide range of soils; prefers coarse textured, well drained soils, and produces a bright, medium green colour with very fine leaf texture and upright growth.

  • Well adapted to cool temperatures.
  • Excellent cold tolerance.
  • Maintains colour throughout the Autumn with quick Spring green-up.
  • Prefers full sun; tolerates light-to-moderate shade.
  • Very aggressive growth habit; may suppress Poa annua under low management.
  • Performs well in areas of low fertility and acid soils.
  • Overall improved disease tolerance, especially Brown Patch and Dollar Spot.
  • Retains plant density throughout the growing season, even under low water use.
  • Greater drought tolerance when compared to creeping bentgrass.
